As is customary in much of Europe, football fans often welcome their teams to first training to an incredible display of pyro. This weekend Royal Antwerp F.C. took to the field for their first session of the new season, as nearly 4,000 fan were on hand at the Bosuil Stadium.
This kind of support in the early part of the season is particularly popular in Holland and Belgium. Throughout the coming weeks, as clubs prepare for early European competition, as well as the regular season, fans will be on hand to motivate their sides. Despite being one of the best-supported clubs in Belgium, Royal Antwerp have not won a national title since 1957. This is no deterrent to their fans however, as their approach to the new season resembles that of a team that expects to win it all.
