It’s been a crazy start to 2015, surprise stars have shone as the usual suspects have wavered. It’s incredible to put together a ‘goalscorers’ list without Cristiano Ronaldo in it but with only 4 league goals in 2015 he is nowhere near (even the great Harry Kane doesn’t make the list!). Here are the three strikers that are making 2015 their year.
After being dominated by Cristiano Ronaldo in 2014, Messi looks determined to make 2015 his year. The first couple of months of 2015 suggest Barcelona’s main man is back to his best. Since the turn of the year Messi has scored an incredible 12 league goals in 9 appearances and shows no signs of letting up.
Not quite as well known as Messi, but Ighalo’s stats since the turn of the year are certainly Messi-esque. During the first few months of the season at Watford the Nigerian frontman had only bagged himself a couple of goals, so even the Watford faithful couldn’t have dreamed of what was to come in 2015. Ighalo has scored a ridiculous 13 goals during his 9 appearances in 2015, to help the Hornets climb up the Championship table.
Everyone is talking about Bas. As Wolfsburg continue to prove themselves as new front runners in the Bundesliga, Dost continues to score. Considering the dutchman has only played 6 league games since the turn of the year it is absolutely insane that Dost has found the back of the net 11 times (ELEVEN?!). Wolfsburg’s frontman’s 2015 tally was certainly helped by an incredible 4 goal display versus Leverkusen.
