After the release of the FM17 Beta we've had a crack at helping you with your first FM career! While playing the new game we have come across some bargain wonderkids that you should definitely snap up before they become world beaters. These aren't your unattainable Marcus Rashford's and Ousmane Dembele's, but those hidden gems who can help you reach the top in Football Manager 2017...
Anderlecht’s young shot stopper Mile Svilar has caught the attention of many in recent months and his performances as a youngster have led to a phenomenal rating in Football Manager 17. The wonderkid is a fantastic sweeper keeper who can be moulded into a fantastic modern keeper in a similar style to Hugo Lloris or Manuel Neuer.
With fantastic technical goalkeeping skills and an ability to play with his feet, Svilar looks to be the real deal. Out of all of these wonderkids Mile probably comes at the highest cost, but what’s an extra couple of million when you’ll never have to buy another goalkeeper again on FM?
If you need to snap up an attacking left back with bags and bags of potential, then look no further that Ryan Sessegnon. The Fulham teenager might well be a natural left back, but his technical ability suggest that Sessegnon would be more than capable of doing a job anywhere down the left hand side.
It’s very unlikely you’ll find a 16 year old in any version of Football Manager with as good starting attributes and bags of potential in the bank. Sessegnon will set you back around £4-5m in the game but would be a solid backup down the left hand side and a future world beater.
Following in the footsteps of Kurt Zouma, Raphael Varane & Aymeric Laporte, Upamecano is the next France defender set to boss Football Manager. At the start of the game, the 17 year old is already a cultured beast at the back, with 15 strength at such a young age and very impressive mental attributes, Upamecano could be nurtured into a rock at any level.
For just a couple of million you can snap him up from Salzburg and just watch him blossom…
This 17 year old defensive midfielder who may cost you a little bit of money but would definitely be worth forking out for. For such a young player Akkaynak has phenomenal mental attributes that will undoubtedly help him grow into a fantastic holding midfielder.
If trained correctly to improve his defensive skillset, the teenager could well fit the bill if you’re after an all-round holding midfielder who can break up the play and start attacks.
While van Bergen stats in the game don’t suggest too much what sort of winger he will become, the Vitesse wonderkid looks like a very well rounded youngster who can be coached into a style of your choice. The 16 year old, who has broken into the first team setup at Vitesse in real life, really feels like the type of player you can really mould to suit your tactics. With strong mental attributes van Bergen will be the type of determined player who can reach the top.
Available for just a couple of million, this could be an absolute steal.
It’s not often you find yourself talking about a Luxembourg footballer, but Vincent Thill could well change that. The 16 year old advanced playmaker is certainly someone to get excited about. While it could be a pesky random attribute, the 19 determination suggests that Thill’s skills could improve very quickly as he becomes a creative powerhouse.
However quickly he gets there, someone who’s potential rating is just half a star off Ozil, should undoubtedly be snapped up for the compensation fee of under a million.
The second Vitesse wonderkid we came across was Buitink. The striker has very impressive attributes for a 16 year old, and with the right training and tutoring he could be a world class option up front. With 14 finishing at such a young age (again could be a random attribute) expect this guy to improve into a prolific goal getter.
For a £525k compensation fee, Buitink is a bit of an unknown quantity but definitely seems worth it.
Touted as the next Zlatan by the man himself, Alexander Isak is tipped for the very top. That has definitely been backed up by the Football Manager 2017 scouts who expect the Swedish wonderkid to become a superb goal getter. As every FM fanatic knows, Scandinavia is a real talent pool for your Football Manager hidden gems, and with Isak available for just over £600k you could well snap him up for various sides at different levels.
Well worth his compensation fee, come on, its the next Zlatan! Dare to Isak…
