Goalkeeper: Simon Mignolet

Yes, that’s right. You might think we’ve gone crazy but honestly Mignolet is definitely a goalkeeper you should look at getting. Last seasons most meme-able goalkeeper was also the second best performing goalkeeper on fantasy league, and that’s with a very very shaky first half of the season. With more confidence, Mignolet could be a steal at 5.0m.

Defender: Jose Fonte

The Saints centre-half has impressed year after year, and every year with a different central defensive partner. So if you want a solid option at the back for not too much, Fonte is the way to go.  If the Southampton backline remain as strong as they were last season, the Portuguese defender will be a real asset in your team.

Defender: Daryl Jaanmat

The dutch fullback had a successful first season in the Premier League, continuing on from where he left off in Eredivisie… assisting. 8 assists in his debut season for a struggling Newcastle sideshows Janmaat can certainly be a success in England and now with Premier League experience expect the Dutch international to kick on once again this season.

Midfielder: Ki Sung-Yueng

Everyone, get Ki Sung-Yueng in your team! 5.5m for the Swansea midfielder is an absolute steal. A box to box midfielder, who scored 8 goals, for 5.5m?! Seriously get him.

Midfielder: Matt Ritchie

This is definitely the risk of the lot, but last seasons performances suggest that Ritchie can take the step up and still perform for Bournemouth. With 15 goals and 17 assists last season, it’s safe to say that Ritchie will play a major role for Eddie Howe’s side going forward once again.

Forward: Wayne Rooney

With the departure of both Falcao and Robin Van Persie, Rooney will be Louis Van Gaal’s main man up top, at least until he signs his ‘Surprise Striker’. Rooney has always scored very highly, in terms of fantasy league points, and more freedom as the man leading the line, you can expect Rooney to score well once again. Aguero is everyone’s go to man up top but for 2.5m less on the Official Fantasy Premier League game Rooney could be better value for money.
