Good tunes can make or break a football away trip.
Luckily, your friends at Copa90 know the power of music to raise the spirits of a bedraggled away fan. When we set off on our European #UCLAwayDays tour with Nissan for the last 16 of Champion’s League football, these are the tunes we will be bumping.
When you’re at your lowest ebb, when Red Bull and service station sausage rolls will do nothing to stave off the encroaching exhaustion – reach for these. God speed football fans.
Bruce Springsteen – Dancing in the Dark
The boss. No introduction needed.
Talking Heads – Once in a Lifetime
Because its never cheesy to accept that every road trip is a once in a lifetime experience. Err, OK. It’s always cheesy – but who cares. David Byrne doesn’t.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers – Runnin’ Down a Dream
Goes without saying. It might be a bit ‘Top Gear Driving Anthems’ – but when you stick it on, you’ll remember why you’re out there.
Jimi Hendrix – Crosstown Traffic
Obvious road parallels aside, this has the energy of 4 bottles of Lucozade with none of the panic attack anxiety and sugar shakes.
Frank Ocean – Swim Good
Tone the energy down briefly and lift the spirits with LA’s most reclusive soul man and his infectious voice.
Fugazi – Waiting Room
Any song that reminds you of the temporary nature of existence will bring some solace when you’re out on the road – all the better when its a punk banger.
Bad Company – Bad Company
Round it off with some lighters in the air rock – when the beat comes in there won’t be a dry eye in the motor.
