Last year we visited some of the biggest derbies in the world with Copa90 but this year we want to get off the beaten track. We want to get to know some of the less high-profile footballing cities and see what’s going on underneath the radar in places that don’t get any attention from the mainstream media.
All across eastern Europe there are cities obsessed by football, and huge rivalries that explode on match day. It’s these communities that we want to get to know and first up we headed to Budapest for the Ujpest v Ferencvaros derby.
As with our experience in Belgrade last year, we found a matchday experience unlike anything you’re likely to come across in England, and a group of fans to whom there’s more than meets the eye.
